We can see the light at the end of the tunnel...
Hey everyone!
Kevin Romeo here. My personal apologies for the rather long gap between project updates. It's not for lack of activity, both filming and in the editing room. But I wanted to take a quick pause and share a little update with ya'll!
On the filming side of things, we recently returned from our 'final' trip to Nashville to capture and document the action at Santa's pub and various other spots in and around the city. We also had the pleasure of visiting WB Walker in West Virginia as a bit of a mountain detour. Probably need to get the rotors on my pick up replaced after driving up/down and through the mountains to WB's place!
With regards to editing the film:
As you all probably know well - Luke's story touched a lot of people, and a lot of places. Not only that, but anyone who knew Luke knows that his story wasn't a straight line (to say the least). Building the film narrative that both rings true and also makes sense to the audience has been no small task!
That being said, we are still working daily to finish the film and have it ready for submission to major film festivals. We're fighting the clock to get the cut ready and spending a lot of late nights at the studio.
With regards to film screenings.
We still are TBD on when we can get our film screenings scheduled.
The major factor to consider is what festivals we get into. The bigger ones (a la Sundance) typically will not allow you to screen your film before hand in any official capacity, as they, understandably, want to premiere films at their festival.
When we started this journey, we didn't really know what we would have on our hands, but now...we think we have something pretty special and we are going to do our best to get it in front of as many people as we can. So we believe we need to do our best to get this film into the major festivals.
So we do appreciate your patience, and if all goes well, we could be holding screenings across the world, bringing Luke's stories to fans everywhere.
Once we know more, we will start planning for the kickstarter screenings, which we are so looking forward to! In the meantime, we are going to start putting together some of the physical Kickstarter rewards and get them shipped out as soon as we can. Thank you all so much for your support both in spirit and financially, there's no way we could do this without ya.
Blessings on ya,
KR
